Time for Trick-or-Treating - the changes of trick or treating

Halloween comes soon.It falls on tomorrow, October 31. How's your feeling now?

Trick-or-Treating has always been a fun tradition on Halloween since I was kid. It was the time of year that you can dress up in a freaky, weird, pretty, or fun costume and get all the candy you want. It was also the only time you can stay out late on a school night and not have to worry about your kids being kidnapped or even worse.

Now, they have indoor trick-or-treating due to the high rise of crime. When they do have outdoor trick-or-treating, it's usually in the afternoon. When I was a kid, you really didn't have to check your candy for razors or any other harmful substances people would put in candy. Nowadays, you have to check your kids' candy for these kind of things. This take the fun out of trick-or-treating. I also remember that when I went trick-or-treating, almost every house in my neighborhood would be on for the trick-or-treat.

Now hardly any street lights are on and the kids don't get as much candy as we used to. This indoor trick-or-treating thing kind of takes the fun out of trick-or-treating and it's not the same as going to every house on your block. Some people don't even deck out their houses for Halloween like they used to. I'm talking graveyards with tombstones, someone dressed like the dead and popping out of the coffin when trick-or-treat went by and some even did haunted houses in their own houses or outside in their front yard and had spooky music playing in the background.

My conclusion to this is a lot people lost their Halloween spirit and don't get into real fun of Halloween. I think it's due the high rise of crime and kids disappearing without a trace as I stated earlier and it's probably part of the reason they have indoor trick-or-treating.That's just my opinion on things. Anyone else feel the same way as I do?
